About Sumter Behavioral Health Services

Sumter BHS has two locations in Sumter County to make treatment services as accessible as possible. Every day, we are carrying out our goal to identify the needs of the community and adapt our services to meet those needs. Our Treatment facility, Administrative Offices, Intervention, and Prevention Services are now at our new location at 755 Electric Drive. Our Women’s Residential facility is located within the city limits at an alternate address.

We are licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and credentialed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

What We Treat

At Sumter Behavioral Health Services, we proudly offer treatment for substance use and  behavioral health disorders.

Substance use disorders: We offer treatment for a variety of drug use problems. Whether you need inpatient or outpatient care, we will craft a treatment plan that suits your unique situation. We also offer a variety of educational, evidence-based prevention programs to schools, employers, and businesses/organizations. 

Behavioral health concerns: We provide a full array of behavioral health treatment options so anyone struggling with behavioral health can find what they need to begin long-term recovery.

Sumter Behavioral Health Services is dedicated to providing all clients with high-quality care, administered by knowledgeable staff and qualified health professionals. All staff counselors are licensed as alcohol and drug counselors, and many of them have master’s degrees. Our programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services.
